About David Crowder Band
The David Crowder Band was a six-piece Christian rock and modern worship band based in Waco, Texas. The group formed in 1996 when David Crowder and Chris Seay met at Baylor University, hoping to provide a relevant musical alternative for students who were not attending church. David Crowder served as the band's lead vocalist and was also a worship leader at University Baptist Church. The band remained active until 2012, blending a wide range of genres into their music, including rock, electronic, bluegrass, and folk.
Over the course of their career, the David Crowder Band released six studio albums: Can You Hear Us? (2002), Illuminate (2003), A Collision (2005), Remedy (2007), Church Music (2009), and Give Us Rest (2012). Their catalog included well-known songs such as “O Praise Him (All This For a King)” and “How He Loves Us.” The album Church Music won Praise & Worship Album of the Year at the 2010 GMA Dove Awards. In total, the band earned 8 GMA Dove Awards from 18 nominations. Their final album, Give Us Rest, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Christian Albums chart and No. 2 on the Billboard 200.
Following the band’s disbandment in 2012, David Crowder began a solo career under the name Crowder. The other members of the group, with the exception of Mike Hogan, formed a new band called The Digital Age.
