About Jaye Thomas

Jaye Thomas is a singer, songwriter, and worship leader who has invested more than twenty years in Christian music ministry. He was raised in North Carolina in a Christian home and is the great-nephew of the late musician Nina Simone. His musical training began early; in 1996 he studied vocal jazz performance as a Brightleaf Music Scholar at Duke University.

Thomas served as a full-time worship leader at the International House of Prayer (IHOPKC) in Kansas City, Missouri, and was formerly the director of the Forerunner School of Worship at IHOPU. During his time with IHOPKC, he contributed to more than twenty albums, including releases on the Forerunner Music label. His recorded works include the album Here is My Worship (2014), the album Higher, the album Intimate (2013), the EP Single Eye (2008), and the single Inheritance (2016). Among the songs in his catalog are “We Love Your Name,” “Shekinah,” and “Holy Ghost Party.”

Alongside his wife, Nayomi, Thomas now directs Song of Hope Ministries, an organization that provides discipleship and musical training. His career reflects a steady commitment to worship leadership and equipping others in their faith.
