About Amani G
Amani G, born Amani Gracious on May 8, 2005, in Nairobi, Kenya, is a gospel singer who describes her music as a form of ministry. She first gained public attention in 2018 at age 13 after a video of her singing a cover of Alicia Keys’ “Girl on Fire” went viral. Shortly after, she was signed to the Kenyan label Pine Creek Records. Amani G is a born-again Christian, and her faith has remained central to her artistry from the start.
Later that year, on December 2, 2018, she launched her debut album, “My Reflections at 13,” at the Alliance Française in Nairobi. The album featured songs including “Sitasahau,” “In Love” with Vivian, “Ni Poa” featuring Pitson, and “Asante” featuring Pendo. She also released the single “Nisipotee” in 2019 and “Uonekane” in 2021. In 2019, she began attending Busara Forest View Academy, taking a break from releasing music to focus on her studies.
Amani G’s early career earned her recognition in Kenya’s gospel music community. She won the “Young Groover” award at the 2019 Groove Awards and received a nomination for “Best Collaboration” for “Ni Poa” at the same ceremony. That year she also earned a double nomination for the Maranatha Global Awards. Her collaborations with Kenyan gospel artists Pitson and Vivian further established her presence in the scene.
