About Charity Gayle

Charity Gayle is a Christian artist, songwriter, and worship leader whose music has been noted for bridging the gap between worship and gospel. A native of Buffalo, New York, she comes from a ministry family and has served as a worship pastor and music ministry director. She is a member of the People & Songs community, and together with her husband, Ryan Kennedy, she leads a prayer and worship movement called GatherHouse.

Her career as a recording artist includes several well-received albums. Her 2018 release, Lord, You Are My Song, debuted at number one on the Christian & Gospel genre chart. She followed that with Endless Praise in 2021, an album whose songs also debuted at number one on the same chart. Her 2024 album is titled Rejoice. Among her most recognized songs are “I Speak Jesus,” “Thank You Jesus for the Blood,” “New Name Written Down in Glory,” and “I Believe,” as well as the EP Divine Exchange.

Charity Gayle has been recognized for her vocal and songwriting gifts. She was named GMA Immerse Vocalist of the Year in 2012, and she received a Dove Award for her contribution as a co-writer on the song “Benediction (As You Go),” which appears on Selah’s album Firm Foundation. Through her albums and ministry, she continues to serve as a worship leader in the Christian music community.
