Jekalyn Almonique Carr (born April 22, 1997) an independent artist and a Grammy nominated American urban contemporary gospel artist and musician, evangelist, and entrepreneur from West Memphis, Arkansas. Her first national single was released in 2012, "Greater Is Coming", that was on her debut studio album, Greater Is Coming, released in 2013 by Lunjeal Music Group Independent Albums charts. Her subsequent studio album, It's Gonna Happen, was released in 2014 by Lunjeal Music Group, and this charted on the Gospel Albums chart.
Early life
Carr was born on April 22, 1997, in West Memphis, Arkansas, as Jekalyn Almonique Carr, whose father is Allen Lindsey Carr, and mother is Jennifer Denise Carr. She has two siblings, a brother, Allen Lindsey Carr, Jr., and a sister, Allundria.
Music career
Her first national single was released in 2012, with the release of "Greater Is Coming", by Lunjeal Music Group. This was on her debut studio album, Greater Is Coming, released on May 21, 2013, and this was her breakthrough release reaching No. 3 on Billboard Gospel Albums. While her subsequent studio album, It's Gonna Happen, was released by Lunjeal Music Group on October 7, 2014, and this placed on the Gospel Albums chart at No. 9. Jekalyn won a Stellar Award at. the age of 16. Jekalyn featured on an episode of Greenleaf (TV series) on the Oprah Winfrey Network.
