Leon Timbo

Leon Timbo is a singer-songwriter and musician from Jacksonville, Florida, whose music draws on the spiritual foundation of his upbringing. Raised by parents who were both pastors, he began singing at age sixteen and started playing guitar at age twenty. That early church background shaped the “transparent soul” style he brings to his work—a blend of gospel, soul, folk, R&B, and country that feels personal and grounded.

Timbo’s artistry has been guided by noted mentors. He is regarded as a protégé of actor and singer Tyrese Gibson and of Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds. Over the course of his career he has released several albums and EPs, including Soul Sessions, What’s Love All About, Invitation to Love Vol. 1 & 2, and Lovers and Fools Vol. 1 and Vol. 2. He has cited Bill Withers, James Taylor, Andre Crouch, and Donny Hathaway as musical influences.

Alongside his studio work, Timbo has performed at a range of venues and festivals, including the Newport Folk Festival and the American Roots Festival. His musical path has taken him from the church to stages across the country, and his independent approach continues to reflect the soul and sincerity he first learned in his parents’ faith.
