Evelyn Amo

Evelyn Amo, born Evelyn Bamfo, is a gospel musician and worship leader based in Amsterdam. Originally from Ghana, she was born in Accra and raised by her grandmother until the age of eight. Her journey in music ministry began in 1996 when she served as a worship leader at Perez Chapel Amsterdam, formerly known as Word Miracle Int. Church. She later served in the same role at Overcomers Bible Church in Utrecht and Praise Valley Temple in Amsterdam.

Amo launched a recording career that includes several studio albums and a live concert recording. Her catalog features albums such as "Great Deliverer," "Praise & Thank Him," and "Live in Amsterdam," along with the compilation "The Best of Evelyn Amo." Among her well-known songs are "Step By Step," "Lift His Name Higher," "You Never Change Oh God," and "African Mega Praise." Much of her music is produced by her husband, Berima Amo.

At one point, Amo stepped away from her active music career to focus on raising her four children. After a hiatus, she returned to music ministry with a concert held on June 4, 2016, at the C3 Church Auditorium in Amsterdam. That event marked a renewed season of public ministry for the Amsterdam-based gospel artist.
