About Tauren Wells
Tauren Wells is a contemporary Christian music singer-songwriter and pastor who launched a successful solo career after years as the frontman of the Christian pop-rock band Royal Tailor. Born on April 7, 1986, in Battle Creek, Michigan, he began leading Royal Tailor in 2004 and remained with the group until its disbandment in 2015. The following year, he stepped into solo artistry with the release of the Undefeated EP, marking a fresh chapter in his musical journey.
His solo catalog includes the albums Hills and Valleys (2017), Citizen of Heaven (2020), and Joy in the Morning (2022), along with the EP Let The Church Sing (2025). His singles “Known,” “Famous For (I Believe),” and “Take It All Back” have been among his most recognized releases, blending elements of gospel, pop, hip-hop, and R&B into his sound.
Beyond recording, Wells serves as a pastor alongside his wife, Lorna. Together they co-founded the Church of Whitestone in Austin, Texas, where they serve as co-lead pastors. He also co-founded the Prisma Worship Arts School, an initiative designed to train musicians in their craft and faith.
Wells’ work has earned significant recognition. Both “Known” and “Famous For (I Believe)” reached No. 1 on the Billboard Christian Airplay chart. “Hills and Valleys” received a Grammy Award nomination for Best Contemporary Christian Performance/Song, and he has collected eight GMA Dove Awards. “Take It All Back” was certified Gold by the RIAA, further underscoring the reach of his music in the Christian music landscape.
