Chris Tomlin is a contemporary Christian music singer, songwriter, and worship leader known for his influential work in modern worship music. Born Christopher Dwayne Tomlin on May 4, 1972, in Grand Saline, Texas, he graduated from Texas A&M University in 1994 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. In 1997, he co-founded Passion Conferences alongside Louie Giglio, a collegiate worship movement that has become a significant platform for his music. He is signed to Capitol Christian Music Group.
Tomlin's songs have become staples in churches around the world, leading TIME magazine to refer to him as the “most often sung artist in the world.” His catalog includes widely recorded tracks such as “How Great Is Our God,” “Our God,” “Whom Shall I Fear (God of Angel Armies),” “Holy Forever,” “Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone),” and “Good Good Father.” He has also released albums including And If Our God Is For Us... and Burning Lights.
His commercial success includes selling over 12 million albums and amassing billions of global streams. He has received a Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album for And If Our God Is For Us..., along with 28 GMA Dove Awards and three Billboard Music Awards.
