Celestine Donkor

Celestine Donkor is a Ghanaian gospel musician, songwriter, and worship leader. She founded the annual gospel concert "Celestial Praise," which has become a staple in the country’s Christian music calendar.

Born in the Volta Region of Ghana to Elder Gabriel Akakpo and Mrs. Hanna Akakpo, she attended St. Augustine Preparatory School and Nsaaniya Secondary Business School. She later earned a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Information Studies from the University of Ghana, Legon.

Donkor began her professional music career in 2007 with the release of her debut album, Gye Wadea. She followed with Restoration (2010), Turning Around (2015), and Okronkronhene (2018). Her song "Agbebolo" was released in 2019. She continued releasing projects with Testimony Therapy (2022) and Final Say (Live) (2023), and the single "Highly Lifted" in 2026. Her music is often performed in English, Ewe, and Twi.

Her work has earned several awards. In 2019, she won Artist of the Year at the National Gospel Music Awards. At the 2020 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, "Agbebolo" won Gospel Song of the Year and she was named Female Vocalist of the Year. She was recognized among the Top 30 Most Influential Women in Music at the 2021 3Music Awards Women’s Brunch. In 2022, she won Gospel Act of the Year at the 3Music Awards, and in 2023 she won Best Gospel Song of the Year at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards for "Final Say." She is married to Emmanuel Donkor, and they have three daughters.
