About Jon Thurlow
Jon Thurlow is a contemporary worship musician and songwriter. Born Jonathan Merrill Thurlow on December 27, 1980, in Oakland, California, he earned a Bachelor of Sacred Music from Nyack College. In 2004, he relocated to Kansas City, Missouri, to join the International House of Prayer (IHOPKC), where he served as a worship leader for fifteen years.
Thurlow’s early release A Life That’s Worthy was released in 2006. His debut studio album, Stand in Awe, came out in 2013 through Forerunner Music. The album reached No. 24 on the Billboard Christian Albums chart and No. 11 on the Heatseekers Albums chart. He followed with Different Story in 2017. His catalog includes songs such as “Jesus You’re Beautiful,” “Storm All Around You,” “Palm of Your Hand,” and “Things Are Not Okay.”
In 2019, Thurlow began working with Watershed Music Group as a songwriter and recording artist. He now focuses on coaching and training worship leaders.
