Victor Atenaga

Victor Atenaga is a Nigerian gospel musician, songwriter, and worship leader who serves as the Senior Pastor of Simply Worship International Ministry (SWIM) based in Benin City, Nigeria. From 1996 until 1998, he served as a personal psalmist to Archbishop Benson Idahosa, one of Nigeria’s prominent spiritual figures. In addition to his pastoral and musical work, Atenaga is a trained voice therapist and has served as a lecturer and rector at the Paradigm Academy of Music, where he helped train the next generation of musicians.

Atenaga founded the music label SWIM Music (also known as SWIM Arts) and established the gospel choir Shirel. Over the years, he has hosted large-scale annual worship events, including gatherings held at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City. Through these efforts, he has provided platforms for collective worship and musical ministry.

His recorded catalog includes songs such as “Fire,” “Beautiful” (with SWIM Music), “Carry Me,” “I Love Your Name,” “The Lord Will Not Fail” (featuring Christiana Brayie), “Onye” (featuring Joe Urie, Precious Kings, and Christiana Brayie), “Oghene Doh,” and “Jesu Do (Thank You Jesus).” These releases reflect his focus on worship and praise within the Nigerian gospel music scene.
