About Joel Vaughn
Joel Vaughn is a contemporary Christian recording artist, songwriter, and worship leader whose music blends pop, EDM, and rock. Born Joel Allen Vaughn on June 15, 1986, in South Carolina, he grew up in Alabama and Texas. He began singing in church at age seven and started writing his own songs at age seventeen.
Vaughn attended West Texas A&M University and began regional touring in 2005. He served as a staff worship leader at a church before transitioning to an independent touring artist in 2013. He signed a record deal with DREAM Records in 2016. Over the years, he released the EP Bigger Than Me (2009) and the albums Don’t Give Up (2010), In the Waiting (2014), and Kinetic (2016).
His single “Wide Awake” peaked at No. 16 on the Billboard Hot AC chart, and “I Look To You” reached No. 3 on Billboard’s Christian Hot AC Recurrent chart in 2019. He was nominated for “The Next Big Thing” award at the 2015 We Love Christian Music Awards. In 2018, Vaughn appeared and performed in the Christian film God’s Not Dead 3: A Light in Darkness.
He currently serves as a worship leader at Victory Baptist Church in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, and resides in Nashville with his wife, Andra, and their children.
