Andrew Peterson, born June 4, 1974, in Monticello, Illinois, is a Christian singer-songwriter, recording artist, and author based in Nashville, Tennessee. He is a founding member of the Square Peg Alliance, a collective of Christian songwriters, and he founded The Rabbit Room, a nonprofit organization that fosters community and spiritual formation through music, story, and art. Beyond his music, Peterson is the author of the fantasy series The Wingfeather Saga.
Peterson released his first proper album, Carried Along, in 2000. His catalog includes Resurrection Letters, Volume Two (2008), which reached No. 9 on Billboard’s Top Christian Albums chart; Counting Stars (2010), which debuted at No. 7 on the same chart; Light for the Lost Boy (2012); The Burning Edge of Dawn (2015); and Resurrection Letters, Vol. I (2018). His songs include “Dancing in the Minefields” and “Is He Worthy?” He also produces an annual Christmas tour and concept album, Behold the Lamb of God, which focuses on the narrative of the coming of Christ.
Peterson has received three Dove Award nominations. In the literary world, his novel The Warden and the Wolf King (2014) won Children’s Book of the Year in 2015 from WORLD Magazine.
