About Chris Renzema

Chris Renzema is a singer-songwriter and performer whose work blends indie rock, folk, and contemporary Christian music. Born in 1995 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, he began writing songs and playing guitar while in high school. He attended Taylor University before moving to Nashville, Tennessee, to pursue a music career.

Renzema released his debut EP, Age to Age, in 2014. His debut full-length album, I’ll Be the Branches, came out independently in 2018. Later that year, in December 2018, he signed a recording contract with the Christian label Centricity Music. His subsequent albums include Let the Ground Rest (2020), Get Out of the Way of Your Own Heart (2021), and Manna (2024). He also released the singles “Son of God” (2017) and “God & Prozac” (2023), as well as the 2025 album Every December.

Renzema’s work has been recognized by the GMA Dove Awards. His album Manna won the Dove Award for Rock/Contemporary Album of the Year in 2024. He also received a nomination in the same category for Get Out of the Way of Your Own Heart.
