Victor Thompson

Victor Thompson is a Nigerian gospel singer, songwriter, and worship leader whose music centers on Christian devotion and worship. He was born Victor Ufuoma Thompson on November 11, 1986, in Lagos State, Nigeria, and hails from Okpara-Inland in the Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science from the Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun.

Thompson began singing at an early age and gained wider exposure as a contestant on Season 2 of The Voice Nigeria in 2017. He officially launched his recording career with the single "Miyeruwe" in 2018. Over the following years, he became known for his deep worship style and spontaneous worship sessions that he shared on YouTube, building a devoted audience.

His catalog includes singles such as "Dependable God" (2021), "This Year (Blessings)" (2023), "Calm" (2024), and "Holy Spirit" (2026), as well as the collaborative track "You Are Jesus" with Phil Thompson (2024). He released his album Blessed in 2023. "This Year (Blessings)" became a significant hit, reaching number one on the Billboard U.S. Afrobeats chart and peaking at number 14 on the Official Charts in the United Kingdom. The song also earned him a nomination for Best Inspirational Single at the 16th Headies Awards in 2023.

Thompson is married to Henrietta Victor Thompson. His journey from church choir involvement and a television competition to a career in gospel music reflects his focus on creating songs that express Christian faith and worship.
