About Alice Kimanzi
Alice Kimanzi is a Kenyan gospel singer and songwriter known for her inspirational Christian music. Born Alice Mumbi Kimanzi into a Christian family in Buruburu, Kenya, she is the youngest of five children. She began writing songs at age fourteen and has been singing since childhood. Before launching her solo career, she was a member of a music group called the Community of Praisers.
Kimanzi released her debut single, "Ni Wewe," in 2009. She later released her debut album, Yahweh, in October 2018. Her catalog also includes songs such as "Waambie," "Yule Yule," "Yuko Mungu" (featuring Paul Clement), "Asifiwe Leo," and "Chukua." In 2025, she released an EP titled Huru.
Her work has been recognized in the Kenyan gospel music scene. She won Female Artist of the Year at the 2011 Groove Awards and received Best Female Artist at the 2012 Talanta Music Awards. Kimanzi is married to Gideon Kimanzi, a music producer and songwriter, and the two have frequently collaborated on her musical projects.
