Lisa Kimmey Winans

Lisa Kimmey Winans was born November 27, 1975, and is a Christian singer, songwriter, and worship leader. She is best known as a founding member of the urban contemporary gospel trio Out of Eden, which was active from 1994 to 2006 and reunited in the 2020s. The group was discovered by Toby McKeehan and released seven albums through Gotee Records, including Lovin' the Day, This Is Your Life, and Hymns. Out of Eden received two GMA Dove Awards, including Urban Album of the Year for This Is Your Life, and earned a Grammy Award nomination for Best Pop/Contemporary Gospel Album for Hymns.

In 2007, she married Juan Winans, and the couple performs together as a gospel music duo. Their releases include the EP A Little Soul for Christmas and the single “It Belongs To Me,” which features Marvin Winans. Under the name Lisa Nicole, she released the single “Same God.” She has also hosted original programming on the Gospel Music Channel.

Beyond her own recordings, Kimmey Winans has written and produced songs for artists including Lalah Hathaway, Stacie Orrico, and Deborah Joy Winans. She has served as a worship leader for over fifteen years, including at Grace Covenant Church of Virginia.
