Steve Amerson

Steve Amerson (born March 28, 1954) is a Christian singer, songwriter, and recording artist known for the nickname “America’s Tenor.” He holds a BA in Music Theory and Composition from Taylor University and a master’s degree in Church Music from Southern Seminary.

In 1988, Amerson founded Amerson Music Ministries (AMM), a non-profit organization through which he has recorded numerous inspirational albums. His recorded projects include Great American Songs, Thankful, Amazed by America, Front Row Center, the EP I Choose To Love, and the live songs “Redeemed (Live)” and “Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus (Live).”

Alongside his ministry work, Amerson built an extensive career as a Hollywood session singer, contributing to over 175 feature films. His film credits include Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, and Home Alone. He has also served as a guest soloist for Billy Graham Crusades and for events with organizations such as the American Bible Society.

In recognition of his work in entertainment, Amerson received the 2009 Bob Hope Award for Excellence in Entertainment from the Congressional Medal of Honor Society. He resides in Granada Hills, California, with his wife, Kristine.
