About The Talleys
The Talleys are a Southern Gospel trio whose ministry spanned more than three decades. The group was originally formed in 1984 by Roger Talley, his wife Debra Talley, and Roger’s brother, Kirk Talley. After disbanding in 1993, the group reformed in 1996 as the Talley Trio, featuring Roger, Debra, and their daughter, Lauren Talley. In 2011, with the addition of Brian Alvey to the lineup, the group changed its name back to The Talleys. They officially retired from touring at the end of 2020.
Their musical style is rooted in Southern Gospel but often incorporates elements of praise and worship and hymns. The Talleys have been recognized for appearances on the Gaither Homecoming video series and concert tours, and they performed internationally in countries including Norway, Italy, South Africa, and Northern Ireland.
The group released several albums over the years, including Testament (2000), Hope for Tomorrow (2002), Praise for the Ages (2004), Rise Above (2006), and After All This Time (2015). Their recorded songs include “Hidden Heroes,” “Testify,” and “The Healer.”
The Talleys received a GMA Dove Award in 1992 and later won the GMA Dove Award for Southern Gospel Song of the Year for “Hidden Heroes” in 2015. That same year, “Hidden Heroes” also earned them a Diamond Award for Song of the Year. The album After All This Time received the Absolutely Gospel Music Award for Progressive Album of the Year in 2015, and Praise for the Ages won the SGN Music Award for Progressive Southern Album of the Year in 2005. In 1997, they received the Singing News Fan Award for Horizon Group of the Year.
