About Legacy Five
Legacy Five is an American Southern gospel quartet formed in January 2000. The group was founded by Scott Fowler and the late Roger Bennett following the retirement of the Cathedral Quartet. Legacy Five made its official debut in Atlanta, Georgia, in January 2000 and quickly became known for its four- and five-part vocal harmonies. The ensemble has toured extensively across the United States and Canada and has been featured on the Gaither Homecoming video series.
Roger Bennett served as the group’s pianist, songwriter, and comedian until his passing in 2007. Legacy Five has released numerous albums through labels including Daywind Records and StowTown Records. Their early recordings include Strong in the Strength (2000) and Heroes of the Faith (2001), followed by Just Stand (2007) and God’s Been Good (2008). Their catalog also includes the song “I Stand Redeemed.” Later releases include Pure Love (2019), Something New (2021), and 25 (2024).
The group has received recognition within the gospel music community, including the 2020 GMA Dove Award for Southern Gospel Album of the Year for Pure Love. Legacy Five has also earned multiple Singing News Fan Awards, including Favorite Male Quartet in 2004 and 2008.
