About The Crucified
The Crucified is an American Christian hardcore and crossover thrash band formed in 1984 in Fresno, California. The group originally went by the name K.G.B., which members later stated stood for "Kids in God's Blessings." The classic lineup consisted of vocalist Mark Salomon, guitarist Greg Minier, bassist Jeff Bellew, and drummer Jim Chaffin. The band is considered a pioneer of the Christian hardcore genre.
The Crucified was active from 1984 to 1993 and reunited for a final show at the Cornerstone Festival in 1995 before reuniting again in 2009. During their original run, they released a self-titled demo titled Take Up Your Cross in 1986 and a demo EP called Nailed in 1987. Their first full-length album, The Crucified, arrived in 1989, followed by The Pillars of Humanity in 1991. In 2010, HM Magazine listed The Pillars of Humanity as number 37 on their list of the Top 100 Christian Rock Albums of All Time.
Later, members of The Crucified went on to participate in other projects, including Stavesacre, Neon Horse, The Blamed, and others. A compilation titled The Complete Collection was released in 2009.
