Scott Wesley Brown is a contemporary Christian music singer, songwriter, and recording artist who began releasing albums in 1974. Born on June 4, 1952, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he has recorded over 25 albums throughout his career. His songs have been recorded by artists including Amy Grant, Sandi Patty, Pat Boone, and Plácido Domingo, and he has had multiple number one singles on Christian radio and Adult Contemporary/Inspirational music rankings.
Brown’s early albums include his self-titled debut Scott Wesley Brown (1974) and I’m Not Religious, I Just Love The Lord (1977). His later releases include One Step Closer (1979), Signature (1982), Kingdom Of Love (1984), Somebody’s Brother (1985), and the contemporary hymn album Hymns, The Old Made New (2006). In 2016 he released The Balladeer. He also partnered with Billy Smiley to produce a series of contemporary hymn arrangement albums.
Beyond the studio, Brown has toured internationally in over 50 countries and has collaborated with organizations such as Promise Keepers, Campus Crusade for Christ, and the U.S. Center for World Mission. He was ordained by the Southern Baptist Convention in 1998 and has served as a worship and missions pastor at churches in San Diego, California. More recently, he has served as a Legacy Pastor with the Legacy Coalition, focusing on ministry to grandparents and their families.
