Women In Praise

Women In Praise is a South African gospel music project created to offer female artists from the Spirit of Praise choir a chance to collaborate. Established in 2015, the group was formed with the aim of empowering young women in the music industry through mentorship and unity.

The project’s sound blends traditional and contemporary gospel elements. Its members have included artists such as Zaza, Nothando, Precious Mosotho, Thando Makhaphela, and Lydia Molisa. Veteran gospel singer Winnie Mashaba has served as a mentor to the group and appears as a featured artist on their recordings.

Women In Praise has recorded both live and studio albums, with sessions taking place in Swaziland and Johannesburg. Their releases include Women In Praise Vol. 1 (Live), Women In Praise Vol. 2 (Studio), Women In Praise Vol. 3 (Live), Women In Praise – Live In Johannesburg, and Women In Praise Vol. 5. Among the songs in their catalog are “No One Can” (Live), “Moya Waka,” and “Matla.”

The album Women In Praise Vol. 3 achieved Platinum status and received nominations for both Crown and South African Music Awards.
