Joel Murray, known professionally as Positive, is a Caribbean gospel reggae artist from Trinidad and Tobago. He was born on March 20, 1987, in Scarborough, Tobago. A singer, songwriter, and producer, he pioneered Caribbean gospel reggae music, blending reggae with contemporary gospel and dancehall influences.

Positive began his musical career as the lead singer of a local reggae group called L.E.G.I.T. in Tobago. He released his debut single, “Trust In Jesus,” which reached number two on the Trinidad and Tobago gospel hitlist. He later founded his own imprint, Bricksvale Records, and has released multiple studio albums.

His catalog includes the 2007 single “Never Let Go” and the album of the same name, followed by Forever My King (2012), Stand And Be Counted, and HEARTWIRED (2020). Other songs in his repertoire include “Mighty Healer,” “Blessing After Blessing,” and “Two Man Army.”

Positive has performed internationally in the Caribbean, Africa, and parts of Europe and North America. In 2014, he was the top honoree at the Caribbean Gospel Music Marlin Awards, winning eight awards in one night—the first artist in the awards’ history to achieve that in a single ceremony. His album Stand And Be Counted also debuted on the Billboard Top Reggae Albums Chart.
