About Lisa McClendon
Lisa McClendon is a gospel, soul, and worship artist who began her music journey as a preacher’s daughter. Born Edletha Lorraine Peoples on October 17, 1975, in Palatka, Florida, she started singing in church at age twelve. As a teenager, she was the runner-up in a regional gospel version of the television program Star Search. She later became a member of the female gospel vocal trio 3N1 and served as a praise and worship leader at The Potter’s House in Jacksonville, Florida.
Her solo recording career began in 2002 with the release of the album My Diary, Your Life. She has released music through labels including Shabach Entertainment, Integrity Gospel, and Blusoul Records. Her musical style blends gospel with elements of jazz, soul, and neo-soul. Her discography includes Soul Music (2003), Live from the House of Blues (2006), Reality (2009), and 5AM - The Sound of Waking up to Him (2015). Songs in her catalog include “Brilliant,” “Mood,” and “Perfect.”
For the album Soul Music, McClendon received three Stellar Award nominations and two Dove Award nominations.
