Dove Brothers

The Dove Brothers Quartet is a Southern Gospel group formed in 1998 by brothers McCray and Eric Dove. Based in North Carolina, the ensemble has been recognized for its traditional Southern Gospel style and quartet arrangements. McCray Dove, who serves as the group's lead singer and manager, previously toured with the Dixie Melody Boys before co-founding the Dove Brothers.

The quartet quickly gained attention in the gospel music community. In 1999, they were voted Horizon Group of the Year, and at the 2002 Singing News Fan Awards they were named Favorite Traditional Male Quartet. The group also received Group of the Year honors from the SGM Fan Fair Awards in both 2008 and 2009.

Over the years, the Dove Brothers built a catalog of recordings that includes albums such as A Tribute to Mosie Lister (2004), Never the Same (2006), Hold On (2009), and Unshakeable (2010). Their song “If I Knew Then” reached number one on the AbsolutelyGospel.com Top 40 Weekly Chart in 2010. Other songs in their discography include “I Can Pray” and the 2024 single “Ole Brother Noah.”

The group has experienced various lineup changes since its inception, with McCray Dove remaining a central figure. In 2024, a new iteration of the group, called McCray Dove & The Dove Brothers, was formed, featuring McCray Dove and his sons, continuing the family legacy in Southern Gospel music.
