Meddy

Meddy, born Ngabo Médard Jobert on August 7, 1989, in Bujumbura, Burundi, is a Rwandan singer and songwriter who has transitioned from a successful career in secular R&B and pop to gospel music. He relocated to the United States in 2010 and attended Tarrant County College in Texas. His musical journey began in church, where he sang gospel songs as part of a group called “Justified” at Zion Temple in Kigali.

Meddy achieved significant popularity in Rwanda and the East African region with R&B and pop hits. His song “Slowly” earned him Best Song of the Year at the 2018 HiPipo Music Awards. Other secular songs in his catalog include “My Vow,” “Dusuma,” and “Lose Control.”

Following a personal spiritual transformation, Meddy publicly shared his testimony and made the decision to dedicate his music to God. He has since released gospel songs including “Holy Spirit,” “Ungirira Ubuntu,” “Ntacyo Nzaba” featuring Adrien, and “Niyo Ndirimbo” featuring Adrien. Meddy is married to Mimi Mehfira, and together they have children.
