Takie Ndou

Takie Ndou (born Aubrey Takalani Ndou) is a South African gospel artist, songwriter, music producer, and worship leader. He was born in the village of Ha-Mutsha, Venda, Limpopo, South Africa. Before entering music ministry, Ndou worked in information technology. He began his professional music career in 2004 after leaving that field, releasing his debut album, Masimudumise, that same year.

Ndou is a member of the gospel collective Spirit of Praise. His subsequent albums include Hope Arise (2015), Psalms of Hope (released 2017), and The Glory. The album Psalms of Hope achieved Gold status in 2017. Among his recorded songs are “Babe Ngisite / Ngiyabonga,” “Una Ndavha,” “Imvula Iyeta,” and “Litadulu Lo Vuleya.” He has collaborated with artists such as Benjamin Dube, Rebecca Malope, and VaShawn Mitchell.

Over the course of his career, Ndou has received multiple honors. He won the SABC Crown Gospel Music Awards in 2021, 2023, and 2025. He has also received Ingoma Awards and a South African Music Award (SAMA) for Best Contemporary Gospel Album. His work continues to be recognized within the South African gospel music scene.
