About Reuben Kigame

Reuben Kigame is a Kenyan gospel musician, songwriter, producer, and educator whose career has spanned worship leadership, media, and advocacy. Born on March 13, 1966, in East Bunyore, Kenya, he lost his sight at the age of three due to a severe illness. Following his conversion at age sixteen, he began his music career and recorded his first gospel album in 1987. He later founded the music group Sifa Voices, which has recorded several worship classics.

Kigame’s professional work extends beyond music. He owns and operates Kigame Music Productions and Living Water Studios in Eldoret, Kenya. A trained broadcast journalist, he also founded and served as managing director of Fish FM, a Christian radio station. He holds a Master of Science in Journalism and Media Studies and a Master of Science in Apologetics.

His music catalog includes songs such as “Enda Nasi,” “Wastahili Bwana,” “Bwana Ni Mchungaji Wangu,” “Fadhili Zake Ni Za Milele,” and “Vita Vizuri.” In 2024 he released the album Asante. His contributions have been recognized with several honors, including the Order of the Grand Warrior (OGW) medal in 2010, a Head of State Commendation for contribution in Arts and Community Service in 2005, a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Malaika Awards in 2016, the Songwriter of the Year award at the Groove Awards in 2018, and the Mtumishi Bora Award at the UBA Awards in 2024.

Kigame is also an advocate for the rights of people with disabilities, founding the Seeing Hands Ministry. In addition to his artistic and advocacy work, he has been involved in Kenyan politics, including presidential bids in 2022 and 2027.
