Lyrics
Chorus (x4)
Umeahidi wewe Bwana huniachi
Hadi mwisho wa dahari ulisema huniachi
Wewe ni Mungu uliye mwaminifu siku zote
Verse 1
Nipitiapo maji mengi au moto huniachi
Unalijua jina langu ewe bwana huniachi
Unatengeneza njia hata mito kule jangwani
Wewe ndiwe alpha na omega huniachi
Verse 2
Uliwalinda wana Israeli kule Jangwani
Ukamtoa danieli kutoka tundu la simba
Wewe huwainua na wanyonge siku zote
Watuepusha na hatari kila siku usifiwe
Verse 3
Marafiki nao wanaweza nigeuka
Mara kwa mara maadui wanizunguka
Nitaishi kwa ahadi yako bwana, huniachi huniachi

Meaning & Inspiration
“Huniachi” by Reuben Kigame with Sifa Voices and Gloria Muliro is a Swahili song of trust, and the title means “You do not leave me.” The chorus says that the Lord has promised not to leave, that He said it would last to the end of time, and that He is a God who is faithful at all times.
The first verse names the hard places: passing through many waters or fire, the Lord still does not leave, knows the singer’s name, and makes a way and rivers in the desert. It calls Him the alpha and omega. The second verse looks back to the protection of Israel in the wilderness and to Daniel in the lions’ den, and it says He lifts up the weak. The third verse admits that friends may turn and enemies surround, yet the singer will live by His promise.
The lyrics are close to Isaiah 43:2, Isaiah 43:19, Hebrews 13:5 and Daniel 6:22. The song’s message is a steady promise of God’s presence.
