HolyName

HolyName is a metal project formed by Tommy Green, formerly of Sleeping Giant, and guitarist Joe Holt. Signed to Facedown Records, the band describes its sound as "holy drone violent worship." The project originated during the COVID-19 pandemic as a collaborative worship "mix-tape" that involved members of their church community.

HolyName’s music incorporates themes of Eastern Orthodoxy, liturgical practices, and personal faith. Tommy Green handles clean vocals for the project, while harsh vocal sections are provided by numerous guest artists, including members of Demon Hunter, Impending Doom, and Convictions.

The band released a series of singles in 2021: "Meet Me Somewhere Quiet," "Fall on Your Knees," "Perpetua," and "My Way." The single "Creed" followed in 2022. A self-titled debut album, HolyName, arrived in 2023 and reached number one on the Billboard Christian Albums chart. The single "Stained Glass" was released in 2024, and the EP Three Bar Cross followed in 2025.
