Mthunzi Namba

Mthunzi Namba is a South African gospel singer, songwriter, producer, and pastor, best known as a co-founder of the gospel ensemble Joyous Celebration. He was born and raised in KwaMashu, Durban.

Before entering music full time, Namba worked as a lecturer in the Transkei Education department. His break in the industry came when he was recruited by Blue Mountain Records as an in-house producer, songwriter, and vocal arranger. In 1995, he co-founded Joyous Celebration alongside Jabu Hlongwane and Lindelani Mkhize.

In 2021, Namba launched a worship collective called "The Fellowship with Mthunzi Namba." His recorded catalog includes songs such as "Mercy – Live in Durban," "Let It Rain," "Send Your Glory," "The Collection," "Praise the Lord – Collection Vol. 1," and "Ngifuna Wena Nkosi."

For his contributions to gospel music, Namba received the eThekwini Living Legend Award.
