TB Joshua

Temitope Balogun Joshua (1963–2021), widely known as TB Joshua, was a Nigerian charismatic pastor, televangelist, and gospel composer whose worship songs became a staple of his ministry. Born on June 12, 1963, in Arigidi Akoko, Ondo State, Nigeria, he founded the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), a Christian megachurch based in Lagos. The church operates the Emmanuel TV station, through which much of his musical work was shared.

Joshua composed numerous gospel and worship songs, often described as prayer-focused, praise, and worship music. These were performed by the Emmanuel TV Choir, the in-house vocal group of his ministry. His compositions include songs such as “So Good (God You Have Been),” “Will and Purpose of God,” “Lord I Believe,” “Break the Chains,” “Free My Heart,” and “Command Your Healing on Me.” He also collaborated with American gospel artist VaShawn Mitchell, who performed songs written by Joshua.

TB Joshua passed away on June 5, 2021, in Lagos, Nigeria, leaving behind a catalog of gospel music that continues to be used within the worship tradition of his church.
