About Charles Jenkins
Charles Jenkins is a gospel singer, songwriter, and former senior pastor. He was born Charles C. Jenkins II on December 14, 1975, in St. Petersburg, Florida. He is a graduate of Moody Bible Institute and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.
Jenkins served as senior pastor of Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church in Chicago from 2000 to 2019. He is married to Dr. Tara Rawls Jenkins, and they have three children. His music career began in 2012 with the release of the single “Awesome.” He later founded the record label Inspired People.
Jenkins has released several albums, including The Best of Both Worlds and Any Given Sunday. Additional recordings include the album Think About These Things and the EP Gospel Music Changed My Life. His single releases include “War,” “Winning,” and “He’ll Make It Alright.”
Over the course of his music career, Jenkins has earned 14 Billboard #1 honors, 9 Stellar Gospel Music Awards, and 8 BMI Top Songwriter Awards.
