Israel & New Breed is a musical collective and worship team led by American singer, songwriter, and producer Israel Houghton. The group was formed in 1995 as part of New Breed Ministries. They are known for a cross-cultural musical style that blends gospel, jazz, rock, pop, and Latin rhythms. Houghton has served as a worship leader at Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas. Their music is frequently categorized within contemporary Christian and gospel genres, and the collective is recognized for live performance recordings that aim to transcend denominational and cultural barriers.
The group’s debut album, Whisper It Loud, was released in 1997.
