Newsboys began in 1985 in Mooloolaba, Queensland, Australia, founded by Peter Furler and George Perdikis. The group is now based in Nashville, Tennessee. Over the course of their career, they have released more than fifteen studio albums, and six of those albums have been certified Gold. The band has also earned four Grammy Award nominations and accumulated thirty-three number one radio hits.
In 1995, Newsboys won a Dove Award for Rock Album of the Year for Going Public and a Dove Award for Rock Recorded Song of the Year for “Shine.” Their catalog of well-known songs includes “Shine,” “God’s Not Dead (Like a Lion),” “We Believe,” “He Reigns,” “Born Again,” “Entertaining Angels,” and “Magnetic.” The band has also appeared in the films God’s Not Dead, God’s Not Dead 2, and God’s Not Dead: A Light in Darkness.
The current lineup of Newsboys includes Jody Davis, Duncan Phillips, Jeff Frankenstein, and Adam Agee.
