About Joe Mettle
Joe Mettle, born Joseph Oscar Nii Armah Mettle on July 5, 1981, is a Ghanaian gospel musician, songwriter, and worship leader. He was born in Accra, Ghana, to Florence Addo and Emmanuel Mettle. An alumnus of Accra Academy and Pentecost University College, he began his music career as the lead singer for the group Soul Winners and later worked as a backing vocalist for gospel artists including Cindy Thompson and Danny Nettey.
In 2007, Mettle founded Joe Mettle Ministries, an organization focused on empowering believers and winning souls for Christ through worship. He also manages Reverb Studios, a rehearsal and recording studio in Accra. His solo discography includes several albums: My Gratitude (2011), Sound of Praise (2013), The Encounter (2015), God of Miracles (2017), Wind of Revival (2019), The Experience (2021), The Kadosh (Live) (2022), and Songs of the Spirit (2024).
Mettle reached a historic milestone in 2017 when he became the first gospel musician to win the "Artiste of the Year" award at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards. That same year, he also won "Gospel Artiste of the Year" and "Male Vocalist Artiste of the Year" at the same ceremony. Additionally, he received the "Best Male Gospel Artiste in Africa" award at the Trumpet Gospel Awards in South Africa. He is married to Selassie Mettle.
