About The City Harmonic

The City Harmonic was a Canadian Christian rock and worship band based in Hamilton, Ontario. Active from 2009 to 2017, the group formed after its members served together as the house worship band for a student religious outreach event. Founding members included Elias Dummer (vocals, keyboards, guitar), Eric Fusilier (bass), Aaron Powell (guitar), and Josh Vanderlaan (drums). Their sound blended Brit-pop and indie rock with anthemic gang vocals.

The band released its debut EP, Introducing the City Harmonic, in 2010, followed by its first full-length album, I Have a Dream (It Feels Like Home), in 2011. That album earned them a Juno Award for Christian/Contemporary Gospel Album of the Year in 2013. They followed with Heart (2013) and We Are (2015). A documentary titled We Are the City Harmonic: The Movie accompanied the 2015 album. The band’s catalog includes songs such as “Manifesto,” “Holy (Wedding Day),” “Praise the Lord,” “Mountaintop,” “We Are One,” and “Let There Be Light.”

The City Harmonic received multiple GMA Canada Covenant Awards, including New Artist of the Year in 2011 and Group of the Year in 2013. They were also nominated for a GMA Dove Award for New Artist of the Year in 2012. In 2016, the band announced its retirement, embarking on a farewell tour in 2017 and releasing a live album, Benediction (Live), that same year.
