Tembalami

Tembalami, born Temba Tagwireyi on January 16, 1982, is a Zimbabwean gospel musician and songwriter. He began singing in church at the age of 11 and later became a founding member of the gospel group Zimpraise in 2006. His music often blends contemporary gospel with Shona and English lyrics.

Tembalami released his debut solo studio album, Brighter Day, in 2011, which included the single “Tomurumbidza Medley.” He performed his first international tour in the United States in 2014. His subsequent releases include the album and DVD Ministry of Works (2015), the album The Fight (2018), and the singles “Waweza” (2019) and “Mbiri” (2020). He continued his recording career with the album Not Going Back (2022) and Church on the Street (2024).

Beyond music, Tembalami is also a businessman and has served as a brand ambassador for National Eye Security. His work in collaborative gospel music earned him a nomination for the Maranatha Awards, and he was also nominated for the Kenyan Gospel Groove in 2019.
