About Raze
Raze was a Tulsa, Oklahoma-based Christian pop group formed in 1997, known for bringing a positive message to youth culture through contemporary Christian music. The original members were vocalists Donnie Lewis, Ja'Marc Davis, J.D. Webb, and Mizzie Logan. The group signed with ForeFront Records in 1998, marking the beginning of their professional recording career.
Raze focused on offering encouraging solutions to issues facing young people, and they took that mission on the road by touring middle and junior high schools across the United States and Europe. Their self-titled album Raze was followed by The Plan and Power. They also released an EP titled That's The Way.
The group found notable success on Christian contemporary hit radio, scoring two No. 1 singles with "Always and Forever (BFF)" and "More Than a Dream." In 2001, Raze won Dove Awards in both the rap/hip-hop album and rap/hip-hop song categories. However, the group disbanded on November 12, 2001, following legal issues involving member Ja'Marc Davis.
