About Graham Kendrick
Graham Kendrick is a British Christian singer-songwriter and worship leader whose work has shaped contemporary church music. He was born on August 2, 1950, in Blisworth, Northamptonshire, England, the son of a Baptist minister. He began his music career in the late 1960s as a member of the Christian beat group Whispers of Truth.
Kendrick is a co-founder of the March for Jesus, an international movement that began in the 1980s, and has served as an advocate for the Christian charity Compassion International. Over his career, he has written hundreds of songs used in contemporary Christian worship. Among his best-known songs are "Shine, Jesus, Shine," "Knowing You," "The Servant King," and "Amazing Love." His early release Footsteps on the Sea appeared in 1972, and he later released the EP Where It Began.
His contributions to worship music have been recognized with a Dove Award in 1995 for his international work, and he received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Step FWD Awards in 2021. He also holds honorary Doctorates in Divinity from Brunel University (2000) and Wycliffe College (2008).
