About Michael Neale

Michael Neale is a songwriter, worship leader, speaker, and author. He holds a degree in sacred music and began his music career as a member of the band Frontline in the mid-1990s. He has served as a worship leader at Christ Fellowship Church in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, and later as a worship pastor at Prestonwood Church in Plano, Texas.

Neale’s recorded projects include the 2004 album Made Me Glad, the 2005 choral collection Bigger Than Life, and the 2006 collaborative album Heaven’s Light. He released the live album No Greater Audience in 2007, the soundtrack The River Experience in 2011, and an EP titled Foundation in 2019. His song “Your Great Name” has also become a well-known part of his catalog.

His songs have been recorded by Christian artists including Michael W. Smith, Natalie Grant, Rebecca St. James, and Kutless. Neale is a Dove Award-winning songwriter; the song “Your Great Name,” which he co-wrote with Krissy Nordhoff, received a Dove Award for Worship Song of the Year in 2012. Additionally, his project Bigger Than Life was nominated for a 2006 Dove Award in the Choral Collection of the Year category.

Beyond music, Neale is the author of several books, including The River, Into the Canyon, and the devotional Your Great Name. He is married to his wife, Leah, and they have three children.
