About Natalie Grant
Natalie Grant is a contemporary Christian singer and songwriter. Born Natalie Diane Grant on December 21, 1971, in Seattle, Washington, she studied to be a schoolteacher at Northwest College (now Northwest University) in Kirkland, Washington, before beginning her professional music career by auditioning for the traveling music group Truth. She later moved to Nashville, Tennessee, to pursue a solo career in contemporary Christian music, signing with Benson Records in 1997 and releasing her self-titled debut album in 1999.
Grant found her stride with the 2005 album Awaken, which was certified gold by the RIAA. Several of her albums have reached the number-one spot on the Billboard Top Christian Albums chart, including Be One (2015) and Seasons (2023). Her catalog also includes Hurricane (2013), No Stranger (2020), the singles “My Weapon” (2020) and “You Will Be Found” (2022), and the holiday release Christmas (2025). Over the course of her career, she has been nominated for nine Grammy Awards and received the Gospel Music Association Dove Award for Female Vocalist of the Year five times (2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2012).
Outside of music, Grant is the co-founder of Hope for Justice, a non-profit organization dedicated to ending human trafficking. She is married to songwriter and producer Bernie Herms, with whom she has three daughters, and she has authored multiple books, including the Glimmer Girls series.
