Marty Nystrom

Marty Nystrom, a songwriter and worship leader known for his contributions to contemporary Christian music, was born in 1956 in Seattle, Washington. He earned a degree in music education from Oral Roberts University and later served as a music director for the New York branch of Christ for the Nations. Nystrom worked as a song development manager for Integrity Music, where he became a prominent figure in the Praise and Worship movement of the 1980s and 1990s.

Nystrom has written over 70 songs and is widely recognized for composing the worship song "As the Deer," which has been recorded extensively. His other notable songs include "Forever Grateful." He has also served as a worship leader on multiple recordings for the "Hosanna! Music" series. In addition to his music career, Nystrom is the author of children's books such as "Don't Mess With Moses!" and "Zack, You're Acting Zany!"
