Butho Vuthela

Butho Vuthela is a South African gospel artist, songwriter, producer, and preacher. He was born in Mount Fletcher, Eastern Cape, South Africa. Within the gospel genre, he is known for blending Maskandi and AfroJazz music styles. He began singing in church at a young age and started writing and performing his own songs as a teenager. In addition to his music, he is a motivational speaker who travels to share messages of faith and hope.

His catalog includes releases such as Ungasishiyi Thixo (2015), Umshumayeli (Olothando Lwakho Nkosi) (2015), Ndiyanela Nguwe Baba (2018), Ndozimela Ngawe (2020), Imiyalo Yam (2024), and Uzusithwalele (2026). He is married to Yolanda MamNtlane Vuthela.

Butho Vuthela’s work has received recognition through award nominations. In 2023, he was nominated for Best Gospel Artist and Best Traditional Gospel Song at the Crown Gospel Awards. In 2025, he received a nomination for Best Traditional Album at the Independent National Gospel Music Awards (Ingoma).
