About Micah Tyler
Micah Tyler (born Micah Tyler Begnaud on April 19, 1983) is an American Christian musician and songwriter from Buna, Texas. Before pursuing music full-time, he served as a youth pastor for nearly a decade and worked as a delivery truck driver. His musical style is often described as "Southern Soul" or Christian pop.
Tyler gained early attention in 2015 for a viral satirical video titled "You've Gotta Love Millennials." He signed with Fair Trade Services in 2016. His early releases include the album The Story I Tell (2013) and the EP The Kitchen Sink (2014). He followed with the EP Different (2016) and the full-length album Different (2017). Later albums include New Today (2020) and the EP People Like Us (2023). His singles "Never Been a Moment" (2017), "I See Grace" (2022), and "Praise the Lord" (2023) each reached No. 1 on Christian radio charts. His song "Different" earned a Gold certification from the RIAA.
Tyler was named National Male Vocalist of the Year by the Gospel Music Association at the 2012 Immerse Conference. He was nominated for Best New Artist at the 2017 GMA Dove Awards and has received two BMI Christian Music Awards for top-played songs. He also authored the book Walking Free (2020) and appeared as an actor in the 2018 faith-based film God Bless the Broken Road. His music is rooted in personal faith and experience, creating what he has described as "battle-tested" songs.
