About Jon Foreman
Jon Foreman is the lead singer, guitarist, and primary songwriter for the alternative rock band Switchfoot, which he co-founded in 1996. He is also a solo artist who has released multiple studio albums and extended plays. Born Jonathan Mark Foreman on October 22, 1976, in San Bernardino County, California, he is the son of a pastor and grew up in the church. A committed nondenominational Christian, Foreman often explores themes of faith, doubt, and the human experience in his songwriting, though he has rejected the "Christian music" genre label in favor of expressing his beliefs through his art.
His solo projects include the Seasons collection of four EPs—Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer (2007)—followed by the album Limbs and Branches (2008). In 2015, he released the EP series The Wonderlands and completed a project involving 25 concerts in 24 hours, documented in the film 25 IN 24. His solo catalog later includes the albums Departures (2021) and In Bloom (2024).
Foreman has collaborated with artists such as Relient K, Mandy Moore, and Brandon Lake, including the Apple Music Session recording of “Your Love Is Strong” with Lake. As a member of Switchfoot, he is part of a Grammy Award–winning band. He was also nominated for a GMA Dove Award for Male Vocalist of the Year in 2009.
