UFIC Choir

The UFIC Choir is a large Zimbabwean gospel ensemble based in Harare, known for its energetic praise and worship music. The choir was founded in 2008 by Emmanuel Makandiwa and his wife Ruth, and it operates as part of the United Family International Church. With a membership ranging from four hundred to over five hundred voices, the choir has become one of the most visible worship groups in the country.

The ensemble is led by Hubert Chigumira, who serves as the head of the UFIC music department. Their recorded music is released under the label Family Music, and they have produced several live albums recorded at the UFIC Basilica in Chitungwiza. These include “In the Sanctuary” (2017), “Creative Worship & Praise” (2020), “Open Heaven (Live)” (2023), and “Relentless Worship Encounter” (2025).

Among the choir’s notable songs are “Ariko Asingarare,” featuring Worshipper Larry Gunda, “Mupinduri Wemubvunzo,” featuring Tapiwa Masara, “Holy Is the Lamb (Live),” and “Thank You Lord,” featuring Psalmist Hubert C. The UFIC Choir continues to contribute to contemporary worship music in Zimbabwe through its large-scale live recordings and diverse praise repertoire.
