About The O.C. Supertones

The O.C. Supertones, also known as The Orange County Supertones or simply The Supertones, were a Christian ska band formed in Orange County, California. Originally founded in the early 1990s as a group called Saved, the band transitioned to a ska-based sound and adopted the name The O.C. Supertones in 1995. Founding members included Matt Morginsky, Jason Carson, and Tony Terusa. The band was signed to Tooth & Nail Records and its imprint, BEC Recordings.

The group was known for an evangelistic approach, with members often involved in youth ministry. Over their career, their musical style evolved from traditional ska to incorporate harder rock and pop-rock influences. The band was active from 1991 to 2005, reunited in 2010, and permanently disbanded in 2017.

Their discography includes Adventures of the O.C. Supertones (1996), Supertones Strike Back (1997), Chase the Sun (1999), Loud and Clear (2000), Hi-Fi Revival (2002), Revenge of the O.C. Supertones (2004), Faith of a Child (2005), and For the Glory (2012). Adventures of the O.C. Supertones received a 1997 Dove Award nomination in the Alternate/Modern Rock category, and Supertones Strike Back peaked at No. 3 on Billboard's Heatseekers chart and No. 2 on the Top Christian Albums chart, marking notable commercial success within the Christian music scene.
